May MSP Deployment Delayed
The May MSP deployment has been pushed back to allow for a correction in the packaged build components. The new date for the May MSP to be deployed to QA environments is Tuesday, 7/8.
To prepare for the deployment you can find detailed information about changes in the release notes. May Part 1, May Part 2.
We would like to highlight a specific item located in the May Part 2 of the release notes. This item is 143 & 144 which address changes to the taxonomy code start and end dates.
Please encourage key members of your team to review and test any relevant items. To aid your review, below is a guide to the color-coding used in the attached documents.
- Green: Changes have been tested and deployed to production as part of a prior hotfix build. No need to test (unless you would like to double-check the changes).
- Blue: Changes that CalMHSA is testing; no need for county testing unless there is specific interest. However, background information may be missing without access to internal communications.
- Yellow: New functionality introduced to the system. Anything not highlighted in pink is not directly related to one of the CalMHSA tasks but could be worthwhile to review.
- Strikethrough: Changes in functionalities not being used by CalMHSA or its supported counties.
Grievances/Appeals Permissions
We have removed permissions to the Grievances and Appeals screens from the LPHA/Clinician user role. Most counties are not using these screens, as CalMHSA has not provided a full analysis and workflows for these screens. At least one county is using them and felt that direct service staff should not have access to these, as the grievances may be about them. CalMHSA agreed and has removed the permissions in response. The following user roles still have access: Billing, Billing Supervisor, CalMHSA SysAdmin, County Affiliate SysAdmin, Medical Records/Quality Assurance
Permissions that were set to Denied:

Permission Change for 1-Hour Face-to-Face Assessment – Effective July 11, 2025
To align with clinical guidelines and role responsibilities, we are updating permissions for the “1 HR Face to Face Assessment for S&R” document in the EHR system, effective July 11, 2025.
What’s Changing: The ability to complete the “1 HR Face to Face Assessment for S&R” will be transitioned from the “Nurse Medical IP/CSU/Res” role to the “Prescriber IP/CSU/Res” role (MD/DO), as this
assessment is required to be completed by a physician.
Please note: The permission has already been provided to the “Prescriber IP/CSU/Res” user role to ensure no loss of functionality. The permission will be removed from the “Nurse Medical IP/CSU/Res” user role on July 11, 2025.This update ensures that documentation access aligns with clinical practice and policy requirements.
