CalMHSA Custom ROI: Now in Production
CalMHSA’s custom ROI document is now available in production environments. The Knowledge Base article has been updated to include guidance on both the Streamline core ROI and CalMHSA’s new custom ROI, titled “CalMHSA Custom ROI.”
CalMHSA will not remove the core ROI, so both will remain available for counties to use; system administrators will be able to deactivate any documents their county does not need.
Permissions for this form have already been granted to CalMHSA user roles, so users should be able to access the document moving forward.
Note: Due to a current SmartCare system limitation, the ROI will be considered “signed” once the staff author signs the document. At that point, it will appear on the Client Information Release of Information Log, even if the client or guardian has not yet signed. During use staff should:
- Wait to sign the ROI until the client or guardian is ready to sign
- Review existing ROI records before disclosing confidential information
The custom ROI can be revoked the same as any other ROI. CalMHSA also notes that the “release to” person cannot be added to the Documents (Client) list page, a limitation of the core SmartCare list page.
Fiscal Year 2025-26 and 2026-27 Production Procedure Rate Refresh:
July 30-31
CalMHSA will refresh the FY 2025-26 and FY 2026-27 procedure rates in production environments over two days, as follows:
- FY 2025-26 procedure rates will be refreshed Thursday, July 30.
- FY 2026-27 procedure rates will be refreshed Friday, July 31.
The rate refresh will include the latest revisions from DHCS’s Service Tables and Fee Schedules for both fiscal years and will link any programs recently meta-tagged to the procedure rates, where applicable.
Travel and Documentation Time Tracking
The requirements for entering Travel Time and Documentation Time will be activated Aug. 3. Please notify staff accordingly.
May/June MSP Scheduled to Move to QA Aug. 4
Barring any last-minute delays, the May/June MSPs will be deployed to all QA environments on Aug. 4. Release notes will follow shortly after; once available, they will be posted to the Knowledge Base, and a follow-up communication will be sent.
Timing details for production deployment will be shared as they become available.
New Scanned Document for BHSA Housing Programs
CalMHSA has created a new scanned document type called “Housing Support Plan (scanned)” for use with BHSA Housing Programs. Permissions have been granted to CalMHSA Sys Admin, County Affiliate Sys Admin, LPHA/Clinician, Non-LPHA, Medical Records/Quality Assurance, and Reception/Front Desk user roles. Read-only access has been granted to the Auditor/Read-Only user role.
