CalMHSA and Help Desk Closed Oct. 12
CalMHSA, CalMHIN and the Help Desk will be closed for Indigenous Peoples’ Day on Oct. 12.
Action Needed: SmartCare Notification Replaced by SMARTnotify; Choose an Option by Oct. 23
Streamline will discontinue SmartCare Notification, its text and voice appointment reminder feature, and replace it with SMARTnotify, powered by IntelliChart.
Counties currently using SmartCare Notification can choose one of three options:
- Standalone SMARTnotify: Available only to counties with an active SmartCare Notification subscription, with no implementation fee. Pricing will remain the same, except that messages beyond the contracted volume will be billed as overages.
- SMARTportal: Includes SMARTnotify and has its own pricing.
- Discontinue appointment reminders.
SMARTnotify messages will be limited to 140 characters, and longer messages will count as multiple messages toward the contracted volume.
Counties are asked to contact their account manager with their choice by Oct. 23. To keep reminders running without a gap, counties must schedule their migration by Dec. 31, 2026, though go-live can take place in 2027.
CalMHSA will follow up with each county about its usage estimate and agreement amendment. Counties already contracted for SMARTportal will not be affected.
July/August MSP Available in QA for testing
The July/August MSP was deployed to QA on Oct. 8. CalMHSA will provide a date for production deployment once testing is complete.
Release notes and the Excel spreadsheet of associated tasks are available on the knowledge base. The color-coded legend on the website was also updated. The yellow highlight will rarely be used going forward, now that changes and defects are listed separately in the release notes.
Questions can be directed to [email protected].
Selected Reports Deactivated in Production
The seven reports that all counties agreed to remove from SmartCare were deactivated in production:
- Clients with Invalid DSM-IV TR Current Diagnosis
- DSM IV To ICD9 Map
- Revenue Report
- Service Information Report
- DD Customers By Clinician
- Fax Transmission Status Report
- Length Of Stay SubOver 15
Demographic Fields Cleanup Updates
The demographic field clean-up script was run on Oct. 2. Counties that requested a list of impacted clients received it through the Help Desk.
Counties that submitted a request by the deadline but have not received their list can reply to their original Help Desk ticket.
Little impact is expected from the script. For background on the project, see the original memo.
