May/June MSP Deployment to QA Delayed

The May/June MSP is ready now and is scheduled to be deployed on Aug. 11.

The timeline for the production deployment is still pending; details will be shared as they become available.

Update to Service Code “Care Management Services for Behavioral Health Conditions by Physician”

The note type associated with the procedure code “Care Management Services for Behavioral Health Conditions by Physician“ will be changed from a narrative note to a progress note type based on county feedback. This will go to production on Aug. 20.

This enhancement streamlines the documentation workflow by allowing providers to document the billable service and maintain/update the care plan within a single note, eliminating the need to complete separate narrative and progress notes.

ISL Procedure Code Name Updates

CalMHSA has updated the naming convention of all ISL procedure codes, adding “ISL” to the front of the name. The updated procedure code and license definition spreadsheet can be found on the Knowledge Base with the updated names reflected.

Reminder for CalMHSA Rx Counties: SmartCare Client Merges and CalMHSA Rx Records

This is a reminder of a known issue affecting client chart merges between SmartCare and CalMHSA Rx: merges are not automatically reflected in CalMHSA Rx, so existing prescriptions, medications, allergies, and other medication history from the original profile may become unavailable.

The CalMHSA development team is actively working on a long-term solution to ensure client merges are properly synchronized between SmartCare and CalMHSA Rx.

In the meantime, DrFirst’s Duplicate Patient Merge Utility can reconcile affected records upon request. Counties merging client charts where the client has an existing CalMHSA Rx profile are asked to submit a support ticket as soon as possible so the CalMHSA team can initiate the merge utility and ensure the client’s medication information stays properly aligned within CalMSHA Rx.

New Scanned Document for BHSA Housing Programs

CalMHSA has created a new scanned document type called “Housing Support Plan (scanned)” for use with BHSA Housing Programs. Permissions have been granted to CalMHSA Sys Admin, County Affiliate Sys Admin, LPHA/Clinician, Non-LPHA, Medical Records/Quality Assurance, and Reception/Front Desk user roles. Read-only access has been granted to the Auditor/Read-Only user role.
