How to Document an Admit Order

  1. Create a New Order, using the steps under Order Sets.
  2. When selecting the Order Set, select Admission as the Order type.
  3. Click the checkbox next to the Admission order.
  1. Complete all required fields for the Admission order.
    1. Set Frequency to “Once” in the dropdown. Other fields are optional.
  1.  Click the checkbox next to the Legal Status order
  2. Complete all required fields for the Legal Status order.
    1. Be sure a status is selected under the Legal dropdown.
  1. Select the Insert button. The Orders will be added to the Order List. 
  1.  Click the Save button.
  2. Sign the Orders, following the steps under How to Sign a Document.

Nurse: When documenting an order on behalf of a Prescriber, the Prescriber must be added as a co-signer and must complete their co-signature.
