All fields on the Vitals Flowsheet are optional.
- You must first have the client open, then click the Search icon.
- Type “Flow Sheet” into the search bar.
- Click to select “Flow Sheet (Client)” from the search results.
- The Flow Sheet screen will open. On the Vital History tab, click the dropdown menu and select “Vitals/Meaningful Use”. (this may already be selected as the default.) You can also search directly in search for “Enter Vitals.”
- Click the New icon.
- The New Entry Flow Sheet will open. The Date & Enter time will automatically default. You may edit this if needed.
- Click the Program drop-down arrow to select the appropriate program.
- If for some reason you are unable to collect vitals, click the drop-down arrow and select the reason.
- Add additional comments if needed.
- Enter the Temperature (F)
- Click the Temp. Location drop-down arrow and select the correct option.
- Enter the Pulse (bpm)
- Enter Systolic and Diastolic in the corresponding fields.
- Click the BP Position drop-down arrow and select the correct option.
- Enter the Breaths/Min
- Enter the Oxygen Level.
- Enter the Height in inches. This will get auto converted to Cm.
- Enter Weight in lbs. This will get auto converted to kg.
- The BMI will auto calculate.
- If the Height/Weight was not obtained, click the drop-down arrow to select the reason.
- Enter comments if needed.
- Click the Pain Level drop-down arrow to select the appropriate pain level.
- Click the Pain Location drop-down arrow and select the location.
- Enter Pain Comments field if needed.
- Enter additional comments if needed.
The following fields are part of “Meaningful Use” questions that are infrequently needed for our counties. Since there may be existing data and/or use cases for specific counties, we only re-ordered and continue to maintain at the bottom of the list so can be used as needed.
- Click Save and click Close.
How to Edit a Vital Sign Entry
- Click the hyperlinked Time in the Vital History for the entry you need to edit.
How to View Trends on a Graph
- Click the Graph tab.
- Click the first drop-down arrow to select the trend you want to view.
- Enter the parameters for your search.
- Click Apply Filter.
