This process will show you how to manage titration of medications while creating a prescriptions in CalMHSA Rx.
- You can manage titration of medications is either through ‘Create New Rx’ or ‘Add medication’ or ‘Renew Prescription’ in CalMHSA Rx.
Follow the steps below:
- On the Patient Profile screen, click Create New Rx.
- Click Add Medication.
- Or Click Prescribe from Medication in the existing list of medications.
- The Select Medication for Prescription box will appear, and you can search for the appropriate drug (Please refer to https://2023.calmhsa.org/quick-start-on-how-to-create-a-prescription/ and other articles on https://2023.calmhsa.org/calmhsa-rx/ for details on creating a prescription).
- Select a drug with required name, strength, brand, generic, copay/coverage limits. An example is shown below–
- Complete the appropriate fields as needed.
- Once medication directions are added, there is an option at the end that says – Add. Click the Add dropdown menu and choose one go the following options:
- and – Select this option when you wish to add more dosage/frequency/changing route/patient directions simultaneously (or in parallel) to the first prescription/selection of medication.
- or– Select this option when you want to provide an option to the pharmacy to choose from the medication options that you are going to provide.
- then– Select this option when you wish to continue the medication in order after the first prescription gets over.
- The successive prescription information will populate for you to complete.
Note: You can continue to add additional titration, by repeating steps 7&8.
- You may get an alert that you need to acknowledge in the right-hand corner. Click the i icon.
- Open and Acknowledge alerts.
Note: A green checkmark will appear showing that the alerts were acknowledged.
- Click the Review icon.
Once prescription is ready, the directions for patient will be visible and will contain titrations of medication in the prescription managed by the provider. These are actioned, as appropriate to the role of user in CalMHSA.
