NOABD Templates Updated to Include Mandatory Enclosures

Following guidance from DHCS for counties to include the mandatory NOABD enclosures – according to BHIN 25-015 – CalMHSA has updated the NOABD templates in SmartCare to list all three enclosures. The enclosures are not in the letter template itself, as these can be simply added to the envelope when mailing NOABDs to clients. For more details, see this new protocol.

Correction to July 1 Charges – Optional Script Deployment

During last week’s Billing Office Hours, there was discussion of an issue in SmartCare where charges for services dated July 1, 2025, were incorrectly generated using procedure rate records that expired on June 30, 2025. This issue has been resolved.

Going forward, any new charges created for a date of service of July 1, 2025, will correctly use the updated procedure rates effective as of that date. To ensure counties are not underpaid for services provided on July 1, 2025, CalMHSA can run a script to regenerate charges for any services that have not yet been billed to ensure the proper amount is submitted on the claim. Any county that would like this script applied to their environment can email lisa.ki[email protected] or [email protected] to coordinate deployment.
