Enhanced Validation for Batch Service Uploads
SmartCare now includes enhanced validation checks for Batch Service file uploads. Prior to uploading, the system will automatically verify that a file is in the correct format and contains valid data. If any issues are detected, users will have the option to download an error report by selecting the “Download Error File” button on the upload screen. Once the file is successfully uploaded, any processing errors related to the services will be displayed automatically. New validation rules have been introduced to ensure:
- The clinician has an active degree for the date of service.
- The clinician’s degree type is authorized to perform the procedure listed in the service.
Additionally, users now have the ability to delete Batch Service files before processing by selecting the new trashcan icon.
Known Issue
CalMHSA is investigating an issue affecting one of the new validation checks. Currently, SmartCare will not allow services to be uploaded with diagnosis codes that do not include a decimal. This issue has been reported to our vendor and is under review.
Denial of Rights Report Now Available
The Denial of Rights report can be used to track the number of seclusion and restraints, and other denials of rights, for individuals and at a population level. The report can also be used in support of state requirements, such as the DHCS 1804, and follows the format guide similar to the state requirements. For more information and instructions on how to run the report, see complete details on the website.
Upcoming CalMHSA Connex Maintenance
All Connex users were sent an email notification about upcoming maintenance to the Connex site taking place on June 8 from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. (PT). Please plan accordingly for this maintenance window and contact Connex@calmhsa.org with any questions.
