Action Required: SmartCare User Reconciliation by October 28th

As part of our effort to align SmartCare user counts with contracted limits, Streamline has set a deadline of October 28th for all counties to address any users exceeding their contracted amounts.
Important Notice: Check if you are currently exceeding your contracted user limits in SmartCare. Please remember that a billable user is defined as a unique user marked as both “Can Login” and “Active.” We ask that you review your user list in SmartCare and make necessary adjustments to comply with your current contracted limits. Going forward, both Streamline and CalMHSA will bill for all users marked as “Can Login” and “Active.” On October 29th, we will review the user counts in SmartCare and issue updated agreements to reflect any increased user counts.
If you need a detailed list of your county’s individual user counts and contracted amounts, please reach out to Kris Watson at [email protected]. He can provide the specific data for the users currently in your system

CARE Act Updates

CalMHSA is in the process of beta testing the new CARE Act development that’s been deployed to QA environments. This includes creating training materials for all types of users (sys admins, clinical users, and quality assurance). We do not recommend counties attempt to test this without the training materials, as this could cause confusion. As soon as beta testing has concluded and training materials have been created, CalMHSA will provide live Zoom trainings for counties. At the latest, this training will occur in early November to allow counties the rest of November to do their own testing, train their own staff, and complete their setup.

San Diego County and Madera County join the EHR Collective

San Diego County’s go-live was on September 1st and Madera County’s go-live was on October 1st. We appreciate all the hard work from the county implementation teams and look forward to our future partnership. This brings us to 25 participating EHR counties!

Accommodations for AB 352 live tomorrow, October 11th

CalMHSA will add the following three global codes to be available in Special Populations, which will enable counties to be compliant with AB 352. These will become active tomorrow:

  • AB 352 – Abortion Care
  • AB 352 – Contraception
  • AB 352 – Gender affirming care

These changes were discussed during the county decision-making meeting held on October 2nd. That recording is available if you missed it (please email [email protected] for assistance accessing the recording if needed). Documentation is now available on the 2023 website here.
