Updated Enhancement Requests

As part of CalMHSA’s ongoing effort to consolidate all county enhancement requests into a single tracking mechanism, counties may notice updates to some requests, whether via the Public County Request Tracker Asana project board or the Helix Help Desk ticketing system.  

Most of those updates are a result of categorizing and organizing requests. Unless specifically indicated, CalMHSA does not at this time have ETAs on the enhancement requests. Counties should reach out to their account manager with any questions. 

SmartCare MSP Build Deployment Updates

The September MSP build for SmartCare is in Production as of Dec. 9, 2024. The October MSP build will be released to all counties’ QA systems on Jan. 7. Detailed information about the changes in the release is available here. 

Please encourage key members of your county team to review and test any item(s) relevant to your work. To aid review of these build release items, following is a guide to the color-coding scheme used in the document linked above:   

• Green: Changes have already been tested and deployed to production as part of a prior hotfix build. No need to test (unless you would like to double-check the changes). 

• Pink: Changes CalMHSA is testing; no need for county testing unless there is specific interest. However, background information may be missing without access to internal communications. 

• Yellow: New functionality introduced to the system. Anything not highlighted in pink is not directly related to one of the CalMHSA tasks but could be worthwhile to review. 

• Strikethrough: Changes in functionalities not being used by CalMHSA or its supported counties. 

Requesting Feedback on Scanned Document Types 

Following up on a county request for the following scanned document types, CalMHSA requests feedback from any counties opposed to these additions: 

• Admission/Intake Document (scanned) 

• Notice of Privacy Practices (scanned) 

Feedback should be sent to [email protected]. If no feedback is received by Jan. 16, these document types will be added to all production environments Jan. 17. 

Contractor Notes Override Now in Production

The ability to override the need for a service note for specific programs is now in county production systems. Setup information is available here.  

Configuration Change

For improved clarity, “MXN Restrain (comp. q 4 and 5)” — relating to tracking seclusions and restraints via Client Orders — will be changed to “Mechanical Restraints” beginning Jan. 10.
