ASCMI Webinar Series Continues Feb. 4

CalMHSA’s Ask Me About ASCMI webinars kicked off on Jan. 28 with a session explaining the form’s purpose, legal requirements, and real-world implications. Counties will also want to attend the second webinar, Feb. 4 from 11 a.m. – noon, featuring step-by-step guidance on completion, workflow recommendations, and implementation considerations. Register here

Update to My Preferences: Email Address Field Permission

Earlier this month, we requested feedback from any counties who would prefer CalMHSA not create a permission for the user’s email address field in the My Preferences screen. While we have received and responded to questions about the change, there has been no other county feedback. We will, therefore, move forward with creating this permission record, granted only to Sys Admin user roles, effective Jan. 30.

This means that non-Sys Admins will not be able to edit their own email addresses via the My Preferences screen. It will NOT impact the ability of Sys Admins to be able to edit a user’s email address in the Staff Details screen.

Response Requested: Update to Interdisciplinary Treatment Plan

CalMHSA is exploring adding new options for documentation purposes (1, 3, 5, 7 and 180 days) to the Interdisciplinary Treatment Plan review interval dropdown menu. While these options can be added to the dropdown and selected during documentation, it is important to note that selecting these intervals will not generate a to-do alert.

Before moving forward, we are asking counties for feedback on whether this functionality would still be useful, even without automated alerts or to-do items. Additionally, please keep in mind that a new treatment plan is currently in development, expected to roll out in 2026. Any updates made this year would be considered interim enhancements.

Please provide your feedback no later than Feb. 13 via email to [email protected].

Improved Performance, Layout for Group MAR Configuration

CalMHSA has updated the configuration key “SetClientCountPerPageInGroupMAR “to align with best-practice recommendations. These changes will help prevent alignment issues on the Group MAR screen and improve overall screen performance, especially for larger groups.

What has changed:

  • The recommended number of clients per Group MAR page will now be 20-25.
  • If the number of clients exceeds the page limit, additional pages will automatically be available and can be toggled as needed.
