Reminder: Approval Needed to Move 2024-25 Rates From QA to Production
The 2024-25 rates are ready to be moved to the production environment upon receipt of each county’s approval. If your county rates are already in production, no further action is required. For all other counties, to move forward with production, please email one of the following statements:
- “We are confident in the testing conducted. We accept the risk associated with any misconfigured rates. Move the rates into production.” (If you select this option, please provide a brief summary of the tests performed. Your insights can be valuable for other counties.)
- “We did not conduct testing but accept the risk associated with any misconfigured rates. Move the rates into production.”
Send your email to the following individuals:
- Roksana Dahl at [email protected]
- Khristy Stephan at [email protected]
- Lisa Kirlin at [email protected]
For more information about conducting your testing, please see these details or refer to these these testing guidelines. Requests for further assistance can be sent to the individuals listed above.
Weekly State Reporting Calls Now Incorporate Training
To re-baseline understanding of SmartCare’s State Reporting functions, CalMHSA will repurpose the Weekly State Reporting call scheduled each Thursday at noon to provide updated training. Training will incorporate all current information and lessons learned by CalMHSA, counties and Streamline. The anticipated schedule of these sessions is below, and is subject to updates as important and timely topics arise:
- July 25: CSI (Set-up/Migration/Implementation)
- Aug. 1: CSI (Data Collection/Submission/Error Correction)
- Aug. 8: 274 MH and SUD (Set-up/Migration/Implementation/Submission)
- Aug. 15: ASAM/CANS/PSC/HCAI (Data Collection/Submission/Error Correction)
- Aug. 22: FSP (Set-Up/Migration/Implementation)
- Aug. 29: FSP (Data Collection/Submission/Error Correction)
- Sept. 5: TADT (Data Collection/Submission/Error Correction)
Changes to Medical Procedure Code Labels Starting July 29
To ensure clarity for users in selecting codes when writing services notes, some medical-related procedure code labels (Display As) will be changing beginning July 29.
The changes – reviewed by county medical directors – include the user type and facility setting. While some of these codes are reimbursable, others are non-billable depending on facility/billing regulations; however, to standardize between super PHF, PHFs, CSU and residential settings, the same procedure codes will be used to simplify the user experience.
In addition, this post also details the procedures that will be associated with the new psych/medical template that we aim to release on July 29. These procedure codes will be automatically associated with this new template.
Please watch for forthcoming details about a training on how to use this new template along with other associated medical-related tools.
New Inpatient Role for Nurses, Change to Medical Prescriber Role
A new inpatient role, Nurse Medical IP/CSU/Res, has been implemented to distinguish inpatient/CSU/residential nurses from the inpatient/CSU/residential prescribers. This role carries the same permission as the Medical IP/CSU/Res role but can be used when acknowledgement requirements may be different or a distinction needs to be made between the two roles, such as in setting up client orders and other functionalities.
In addition, the Medical IP/CSU/Res role will be renamed to Prescriber IP/CSU/Res on Friday, July 19 at the end of the day.
Procedure Code Name Change
Please inform all appropriate staff that the name of the Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Evaluation procedure code will be changed to “MDT/CFT Meeting” on Friday, July 19 at 5 p.m.
