Rate Testing Guidelines for QA

For rate testing in the QA environment, please be aware that there are differences between the QA setup and the primary system, particularly concerning add-on codes. Key points to note:

  • The latest rates for add-on codes have not been synchronized between QA and the primary system.
  • Counties that choose to test add-on codes in QA may find discrepancies, as the rates and configurations might not match those in the primary system.

If your county is ready to move its new rate configuration into Production, please inform CalMHSA via email to:

For further guidance or clarification, please email [email protected].

MedCCC Confirms Claims Submission Deadline

MedCCC has confirmed the SDMC business rules with IT, including the deadline for submitting claims for both Drug Medi-Cal and Specialty Mental Health Services. Claims are due by the last day of the calendar month, 12 months from the date of service. For example, claims with dates of service from July 2023 are due by July 31, 2024.

Procedure Codes Updated

Procedure codes for the bed day swap have been successfully updated in the primary system. Key points to note:

  • The bed day swap procedure codes have been fully updated.
  • If any services or admissions have occurred since July 1 using the old codes, they will need to be corrected to reflect the new codes.

CalMHSA Connex Office Hours

Office hours for CalMHSA Connex will be held every other Wednesday at 11 a.m. beginning July 10 and continuing through the month of August. Beginning in September, office hours will be held once per month. Please use this link to register.

Standardization of Order Template Frequencies

Beginning July 5, CalMHSA will standardize the naming of the order template frequencies between client Order and Medication Rx, removing anything faulty or duplicate. This is part of our ongoing efforts with Streamline to address issues related to frequencies.

Starting July 9, editing privileges will resume for county sys admins for this screen. Counties are requested to not modify any of the order template frequencies created by CalMHSA /Streamline, with the exception of dispense times, if applicable.
